If 80th Disorder were a car, they would most probably be Russian: built from simple elements in an original way, surprising everyone by how well it works. The quartet from Oulu and Helsinki blends four personalities and a few decades in a concoction that tickles the taste buds of any listener who is hungry for atmospheric, dark-tinted indie rock.

Often compared to many a group basking in cult glory, 80th Disorder found their current and definitive lineup in 2006, when drummer Pasi Tyybäkinoja joined in to fortify the group which already included Vesa-Matti Pekkola (voc/gtr), Tuomas Lehto (kbds) and Marko Pyhähuhta (bass) backed by a drum machine. This organic foursome is 80th Disorder today.

The first ever long play by 80th Disorder called Simple Pleasures was released on April 8th, 2009. Previously the band has released one official EP titled Transform (Melotrik, 2006). This recording is still available in selected record stores and sometimes from the band themselves. Also several unofficial demo publications have survived along the way, passing through the hands of fans around Finland.

As far as live shows go, 80th Disorder as a unit is familiar so far only with Finland. Various major and minor rock clubs and festivals around the country have already hosted the band, and there are more to come. But what is more is the group want to broaden their horizons outside of their native land, although it will never be boring to be a Finn. See for yourself?
